What is the difference between plain pressed and side pressed veneer?

In the plain pressed option the bamboo nodes (which were once the rings on the bamboo stem) are clearly visible. The bamboo strips form a line pattern, with lines which are approximately 2 cm. apart from each other. In the side pressed version the line pattern is narrow (approx. 5 mm between the lines) and the bamboo nodes are less visible.
